These Terms of Service (hereinafter the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the StoryForKid service (hereinafter the “Service”), available on the storyforkid.ai website and in the StoryForKid iPhone app, an AI-powered platform for generating personalized stories for children, published by L41 INVEST, a French SARL with share capital of €1,000, registered with the Nanterre Trade and Companies Register under number 912 298 411, with its registered office at 8 boulevard du Colonel Fabien, 92240 Malakoff, France (hereinafter the “Publisher”).
Use of the Service implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the Service.
The Service allows parents or legal guardians (hereinafter the “User”) to create personalized stories for their children by providing certain information (first name, age, interests). Stories are generated by artificial intelligence and may include illustrations, audio and interactive elements.
Registration is reserved for adults (at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their jurisdiction). The User agrees to provide accurate information when registering and to keep their login credentials confidential.
The User is solely responsible for all activity carried out from their account. In the event of unauthorized use, they must inform the Publisher immediately.
The User agrees to:
5.1 Service content: All elements of the Service (design, code, trademarks, logos) are the exclusive property of the Publisher and are protected by intellectual property laws.
5.2 Generated content: Stories generated by the Service are created by artificial intelligence. The Publisher grants the User a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the generated content strictly within a private and family setting.
5.3 Publicly shared content: When the User chooses to publish a story in the community (from the website only), a copy of the story, with the child's first name removed from the title and text, becomes public. The User grants the Publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free license to display, distribute and promote that copy within the Service.
6.1 The Service operates on a credit system. Each story generation consumes a certain number of credits.
6.2 Purchases on the website: Subscriptions purchased on the website benefit from a money-back guarantee: refund of the first paid month, on request within 14 days of that payment; beyond that, and for credit packs, purchased credits are non-refundable, except in the event of a proven technical error of the Service preventing generation. Purchases made in the iPhone app are covered by section 6.5. For website purchases, a consumer has a 14-day right of withdrawal, unless they asked for the service to start immediately and expressly waived this right at the time of purchase. To exercise it, write to contact@storyforkid.ai.
6.3 Subscriptions bought on the website can be cancelled at any time from the Profile page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, with no pro-rata refund for the period already started. Subscriptions bought on iPhone are cancelled in your Apple Account settings (section 6.5).
6.4 Free trial: On the website, the free trial lasts 3 days and includes 3 credits. It requires a payment card, which is not charged during the trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, it automatically becomes a Popular subscription at €18.90 per month, renewed every month. On iPhone, any free trial is an App Store offer whose length and following price are shown by Apple before you confirm (section 6.5). The free trial is limited to one per account; any attempt to create multiple accounts to benefit from multiple trials is prohibited.
6.5 Purchases in the iPhone app: On iPhone, subscriptions (Starter, Popular, Family) and credit packs (10, 25 and 50 credits) are sold by Apple as in-app purchases. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically every month at the price shown by the App Store unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. The “Restore purchases” button on the Profile page restores your purchases on a new device or after reinstalling the app. Deleting your account does not stop a subscription bought on iPhone: cancel it first in your Apple Account settings. Refunds for purchases made on iPhone are handled by Apple under its own terms, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Content is generated automatically by artificial intelligence. Despite our moderation and quality-control efforts:
8.1 The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. The Publisher does not guarantee uninterrupted, secure or error-free access.
8.2 Under no circumstances shall the Publisher be liable for:
8.3 The Publisher's total liability is limited to the amount actually paid by the User during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
8.4 The limitations in this section do not apply to damage caused by the Publisher's gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to personal injury, and do not deprive a consumer User of their rights under the French Consumer Code, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services (Articles L.224-25-12 et seq.).
The Service is designed for children and used under their parents' responsibility. Creating an account is reserved for adults (section 3); purchases, links that leave the app and publishing a story are protected by a parental gate. The child can read and listen to the stories created for them, under adult supervision.
The Publisher reserves the right to suspend or terminate the account of any User immediately and without notice in the event of:
In the event of termination due to the User's fault, no refund will be made.
The User agrees to indemnify and hold the Publisher harmless against any claim, loss, damage, liability and cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from their use of the Service or any breach of these Terms.
The Publisher reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on the Service. Continued use of the Service after publication constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. In the event of a material change, the User will be notified by email.
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, a consumer User may bring proceedings, at their choice, before any court with territorial jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure or the court of the place where they lived when the contract was concluded or when the harmful event occurred.
In accordance with Article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, the User may use a consumer mediator free of charge in the event of an unresolved dispute.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in force. The Publisher's failure to exercise a right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
